All photographs, videos, sound files, and text included in this website are the property of
authors of the North Carolina Biodiversity Project. Photographs marked with the
copyright symbol © can be used only with the explicit permission of the individual
author. Photographs without such marks are also covered by the author’s copyright but
are available for use following fair use conventions: reproductions can be made only
for non-commercial purposes, including educational or scientific uses. Uses for these
purposes do not require that copyright holder be contacted for their consent, but both
the author and the NCBP website must be credited as the source of the photographs.
Any use for commercial purposes requires the consent of the copyright holder.
All text and other files included on the NCBP website or reproduced on the member’s
individual pages are likewise protected under standard copyright conventions, again
with certain limited uses allowed under the doctrine of fair use. As with the use of
photographs, the author and the NCBP website must be credited as the source for any
information obtained directly from this site.
