David George


David George is a science educator and naturalist based in Durham. He is the head of the NCBP's education/outreach committee, and a co-author of the Moths of North Carolina website. David is active in a range of education and public outreach efforts through his work at the Museum of Life and Science and other organizations. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and North Carolina State University, with degrees in Science Education and Media Production.

Acharia stimulea

David's research focuses primarily on larval life histories and host plant relationships, and he has created an extensive host plant database which has been integrated into the Moths of NC site. He has been traveling around North Carolina in recent years to sample moth biodiversity in a wide range of habitats, and has documented well over 1,000 species, including several that are new state records.
